SB9 Compliance
SB9, also known as the Housing Crisis Act of 2019, is a California state law that aims to increase the supply of housing by making it easier to build accessory dwelling units (ADUs) and junior accessory dwelling units (JADUs) on residential properties. In order to be in compliance with this law, certain requirements must be met.
ADUs and JADUs: SB9 allows for the construction of ADUs and JADUs without requiring additional parking spaces or lot coverage, as long as certain conditions are met. ADUs are separate living units that are located on the same parcel as an existing single-family home, while JADUs are smaller living units that are located within an existing single-family home.
